(Venice, IT) - Castello 925 presents ANNE LEITH | Verge, a solo exhibition of paintings and works on paper by New York State artist, Anne Leith. Inspired by the poetics of the woodlands, Leith captures the transient light reflecting off water, filtering through branches and vibrating from waterfalls, clouds and streams, Leith works with gold and silver leaf on mulberry paper to create a series of transluscent gestural paintings installed with clothespins like the laundry of the Castello sestiere of Venice. ANNE LEITH | Verge opens on Saturday May 9 with a reception for the artist is from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at CASTELLO 925's project space located at Sestiere Castello 780, Fondamenta San Giuseppe, 30122 Venice, Italy.
About Anne Leith:
Anne Leith is dedicated to painting the world around her, both in the plein air tradition and in the studio. With an MFA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MA in Contemporary Art History, she credits other artists as her teachers and inspiration. This exhibition at Castello 925 in Venice, Italy during the 61st Venice Biennale, is the first international solo exhibition for the artist.
